A Meal Fit for a King

Bridger's mission president's wife, Sister Veirs maintains a blog of the mission.  I love looking at the pictures and with any luck finding a picture of our missionary.  Today was a wonderful surprise when I found the picture of Elder Clayton and Johnson with the Veir's family who were visiting their parents.  They went to dinner with them at a steakhouse and the picture speaks volumes.  This is the dinner he wrote about in his last email.  No wonder he said he couldn't finish his meal, it's ginormous.  He looks fantastic...

As you can see by the date, it's only a week old picture.  His smile says it all.
One more of all who attended the dinner.  Man, I miss him.  But he sure looks happy!

Sending Home Elder Johnson & Strawberry Shortcake

This email is not long, but the information is awesome.  He is sending home his comp, Elder Johnson.  I am sure he is going to be quite sad as has been a good duo.  Having much success with baptisms and the people are loving these elders.  I'm sure it is their fun personalities and spirit that helps.  He is teaching Sunday School each week which he told his dad about, and loving it.  This from the same kid who ditched SS quite often...ha-ha.  And bonus pictures, too!  This is a great email...read on and you'll see.  Enjoy...

An Awesome Baptism & Loving San Pedro Sula

I have to admit, these emails are always such a fun thing to receive and when they are full of happiness and success it makes it even better.  He is loving his area, and had great success with more to come.  I find it hard to read that he's already worried about school and things when he returns.  I'm sure he is feeling like it's coming faster than he would like.  But somehow I hope he understands that it will all take care of itself.  He has been obedient and so will be blessed as he decides what to do.  The Shane that he mentions is  missionary that will be leaving the MTC that went to WX and is a year younger than Bridger.   I am going to send a letter down with him to give to Bridger and I'm excited as I haven't told him it's coming.  I hope it all works out.  Enjoy, it's another good one...

What up Family well another week right another awesome week.

So we had an amazing baptism with Omar Caballero amazing in his baptism his friend got up long time member and shared of an exp he had with Omar over 15 years ago that one christmas this friend had nothing nothing until he decided to sell chairs ya he had found chairs and decided to sell them so after thinking of to whom he was going to sell them he called Omar and Omar told him to bring them to him ALL OF THEM so he went and Omar just opened up his pocket and put the money in they talked and laughed and then this friend went ho,e and tool out the money where he found out it was double the amount of the chairs he called Omar and Omar said to just leave it alone and dont worry about it. And his friend said that because of that his family had a christmas and had food on the table amazing this guy Omar Caballero great guy love him huge heart great guy the only sad thing is his mom huge caholic his wife same story he never told his family he was listening to us or about his baptism nothing great guy he is an engineer and builds parks just amazing the baptism was great awesome day Saturday.

Ask them anything, and Loving being a Missionary

I look so forward to Mondays and hearing how his week has gone.  He is doing so awesome and loves being a missionary.  I think it is so awesome for him to write this.  Especially to his brothers.  What a great example he is to them.  He is now realizing that some of his companions and friends are almost ready to head home and that makes him a bit sad.  However, he has watched his dad and how he is still friends with several of the missionaries he served with and knew on his mission.  I on the other hand am looking forward to meeting some of them as they come home.

Well thats is about all the english that people can say down here ya know the ones that have gone to the states illegally and got sent back yo How you doin, and wher you from man freaking brooklyn new york down here in San Pedro Sula hahah but anyways had an amazing week really just awesome! it started out finding a family of a returned Missionary that served here like 4 years ago is living with this woman he met on his mission and now wants so badly to change his life for the better what a great family!!! we got there and hes like 24 and shes like 30 with two kids that are 9 and 7 they had never talked to the missionaries before and just one thing that he said that really stuck out to me is he says. and i quote ask them whatever you want they are here to help you and help us!!! Awesome he said it was time to get things back into order and so that was bomb they went to church and everything is good the only thing is he is from Guatemala so he has to get back there to get his papers so that he can get married here so itll be a bit of a process but it will be all good. Awesome family also we have two baptisms for this week ALEJANDRO so awesome love the kid the mom was inactive ya they have been goin to church for like 4 weeks now and aweomse. LTD, Living the Dream & Looks like his Dad

This is a great email.  He is so happy and you can feel his love of the people, the country and his mission as you read.  There is also a  picture of him that he sent that he can't believe how much he looks like his dad.  He also was so excited about finding Fruit Loops or I think Malt o Meal Tutti Fruities, they are in the picture.  Funny how simple things can be so awesome to him now.  He sounds great.  Enjoy...

Well How is everything going family im doing just great as always here in the heart of San Pedro Sula!!!! So sweet to be able to say that i love this city its so awesome anyways this week was good we started off the week good finding more families its really great because right now we are teaching 11 Families so that is awesome.  They are reading the Book of Mormon praying some know its true just the whole going to church thing is very hard for them to do. but its all good we had an awesome guy so Boss he will be getting Baptized This saturday or the 11th but ya super pilas man also we had 1 family go to church who the dad is a member but the wife and kids no so it was great that they showed up. so awesome anyways so had a great time teaching this week my Comp Elder Johnson is From California Rancho Cucamonga so thats a bit far but he will be attending LDS Buisness College two weeks after so he`ll be up in Salt Lake living in the Avenues so i will give him youre guys number and you can go to dinner or something with him one night hes a way cool guy and we are doing great here in San pedro Sula anyways. This week was good this week i started to read the new testement since i have read the Book of Mormon a couple times i want to read that to get to know more about the Savior Jesus Christ and his atonment for everyone of us it is amazing and im just starting out and am in Matthew but its going really great and im hoping to learn alot more as i keep going along. So. Life is great there is definitly no where else i would rather be right now than here in San Pedro this really is a great city with some great people let me just tell you of a great exp. i had this week. So we wee working out on the bordo when it started to pour rain and the streets turned to rivers. While we were waiting on the side of the road a guy pulled up in a car and asked us where we were going we told him where and mind it was very far he said ok and we got in talking to him and it was a good ride he went way out of his way to just take us where we needed to go cause we were in the rain. So we were writing his number down when someone called me on my phone and everything so we go to get out of the car and we thank him and say goodbye as we shut the door Johnson asks me if we got everything i said ya and bounced so we go to our next lesson when i go to look for my phone and boom not there freak so we call the guy he looks for it and finds it and the next morning comes and drops it off at our house. GREAT PEOPLE live here i love San Pedro.
So anyways also the Olympics are going on HONDURAS BEAT SPAIN TALK OF THE FREAKING COUNTRY yesterday while walking we got stuck in the middle of a parade hahah so aweosme you guys have to post me with what else goes on with Honduras and if they win anything i know they are playing in like 8 events so be sure to watch em and root for em theyre defintly NUMBER 2 BEHIND THE USA so root for em anyways that was sick getting stuck in the parade everyone with Fireworks Beer and chanting OLE OLE OLE OLE    OLE   OLE hahahah so fun i love this country Blue White and the Five stars is so awesome.
