But ya Also i got a letter from Mom and in there was the letter from Wendy Fenn it was awesome i have it and have read it a couple of times already The Fenn fam. COME WHAT MAY AND LOVE IT

LOVE ELDER BRIDGER CLAYTON
And my letter to him...

Hello Pal!  Can you believe it's been 7 months today that we took you to the MTC to start this amazing journey?  Somedays it seems like forever and yet when I look back on the growth you have done and who you are becoming it is so awesome.  How you doing pal?  How was your week?

I have to admit your letter was far too short, but I understand.  The bug bite had me a little concerned?  What was it, and are you ok?  I told Tammy Nielsen that for all I know you could be missing a leg.  Please update me on that one if you would.

This has been a busy week I guess, not too much excitement, but I'll update you on what's happened.  Monday night we went to dinner with the Petersen's at Salt City Burger.  We love them!!!  We had a blast and they loved the food.  It was quite slow which we were grateful for so we didn't feel rushed.  I am going to send a couple of pics to you of the night and then of course I'll get some hard copies and mail to you in your next letter.   Letia and I feel as if we have always known each other.  We already have another date planned and seriously this makes the time go by faster.  We catch up on you and Elder Petersen and it is awesome.  He is doing well, a couple of more ingrown toenails, but other than that he seems like he has the same frustrations as you do.  I went to the Sister Veirs blog and there were some pics of his zone on there.  When are there going to be some of you???  I look each time and cross my fingers hoping for some to see how you're doing.  Can you send some this time with your email.  I just miss your face and need to see you.

Friday night was the Bountiful/WX game.  21 years, will this be the year???  NOPE, they killed us, 44 - 21 it was bad.  We stayed the whole time however, die hard true fans.  It was fun at the beginning when we were in it but after the beginning of the third quarter, it was all over.  Oh well, maybe next year.  Probably not though.  We sat close to Morgan and I talked to her.  She's so sweet and it was fun to visit and she how she's doing.  She says she's able to talk with you and for that I'm grateful.  If it helps you stay happy and focused then I'm all for it.  Did you ever know that Shad came home?  I thought he was going to go back out, but it's not looking promising.  And Kyle Johnson was there, guess where he is working???  Deseret Book!!!  And, thinking of a mission.  Awesome!  Love Kyle.  He's a great kid and said to make sure we tell you hello.

Next week at this time Masen will have given his farewell talk.  Seems like forever since he got his call and now it's 10 days away.  He's excited and anxious and I think just needs to be on his way.  They are doing the Costa Vida spread, trend setter that you are.  Wendy asked me if it was ok if they did the same.  I think it was so smart.  So of course we don't mind.  I need to tell you again thanks for being such a great son and helping us with that, it was what you wanted and we are so grateful for your  hard work and help in so many ways.  I just got called to say the prayer, ugh!!!  I'll probably cry, it's a given.  I will miss Masen with him around I feel like you're around.

How's the investigators coming along.  We pray for you always for those people's hearts to soften and listen to the message you are telling them.  They will listen.  Get them to know you.  People will want to know Christ because they know you and see the light that you have.

I love you pal.  I'm so proud of you and look so forward to Monday's to see how you are doing.  I pray that your safe and happy.  Know that Heavenly Father is blessing us through your service.  You're amazing.

Hope you have a wonderful week.

Love,

Mom

A Rather Short Email, and Something that Bites in the Night

This week's letter was way too short.  I guess it's better than not getting one, maybe.  Things look like they are progressing and he's loving his mission and area.  Hoping for a better and longer email next week.  Enjoy...

Its Cold huh dang i keep thinking that one of these days its gonna get cold but i dont think it will ever happen maybe a miricle but nah i dont think so Already snowed thats insane how old is brooklyn like 2 months right i think so anyways i cant remember. Thats sweet that the fall colors are changing though dad sent me a pic of bearlake looks so bomb. wHOOPS didnt mean to send that so the NBA are they gonna play no whats up thats kindda ridicoulous Meeting the Petersons thats super sweet tell em i say Hola salt city huh thats awesoem too Yes i wear my sandals all the time dont worry i wouldnt want to walk on the floor with out them oh freak two night ago somthing bit me in my sleep right i have no idea what it was but it was nasty all is good now though haha but for a minute there it was a little sketchy. But its all good.

Love Elder Clayton

ps havent gotten your stickers yet one day thiugh hahah

And my letter to him...

Hello Pal!  How was your week?  The week here was not as eventful as some in the past but I'll catch you up and tell you what we all did.  First of all, it is so cold here.  Today was a beautiful day and really feels like Fall, but on Thursday and Friday it was 30-40 degrees.  It snowed in the mountains and hard to believe it's barely October.  It is going to warm up this week, but it definately is earlier than normal for being this cold.  We went up to Breann and Skylar's ward today where they blessed their little Brooklyn.  She's so cute.  Tons of hair.  I need to have her send me a picture and if I can get it today I'll send it to you.  Their church was the same time as ours so after having a get together at their house we decided to drive up through Morgan and around by East Canyon resevoir to see the leaves.  It was really quite pretty and funny how when we got to the top there was quite a bit of snow which looked strange to see the Fall colored leaves and snow on the ground, too.  None of us had our cameras so I can't send you a picture, darn it anyways.

Now it's just been a lazy day at home enjoying the cooler weather and watching a little bit of football.  Update on the NBA, all preseason games have been cancelled and still waiting for a decision to be made.  Tomorrow is supposed to be a major day for the remaining season.  I'll let you know what happens for sure.

Yesterday we went to Dick's Market and ran into Beth.  She said she finally got a letter from you this week.  Wow, that took quite awhile.  She said she has mailed you at least three, so if you haven't gotten one there should be some soon.  Have you gotten any from me?  I sent you some with stickers in them a while ago and never heard if you got them or not.

How's your companion?  Dad let me read the emails you sent him and you never really said what happened with the difficulties you were having.  Have they gotten better?  I sure hope so.  I pray for you so much and hope it is all working out.  Sometimes you have to have the bitter to appreciate the sweet.  Tomorrow we are going to dinner again with the Petersen's so I'll send you some pics.  We are meeting them at SCB.  Stetson is so excited.  He loves that place and really is making good money there.  He sometimes doesn't like working Friday nights, but then he comes home with good tip money and it seems like it is forgotten.

I started back at Four Pillar this week and am sore to prove it.  It seems to be the only thing that works for me and hoping this will help me break into a number that I have been trying for for a long time.  I thought of you yesterday as we were trying to find some fruit for Breann's today and the fruit seems to be done for the season.  No strawberries at Costco which is unheard of.  We ended up doing bananas and apples with caramel dip.  But realized how fortunate you are to have fruit at the taking, right?  What are you eating these days?

We talked to Barbara Stevens yesterday who served in Paraguay and she said to tell you to make sure you wear your shower sandals, she used to have to pick worms out of her companions feet quite often, yucky, right?  I told her I thought you were always doing it and I didn't worry.

I was talking to Cindy today, too.  Do you write in a journal?  Just wondering.  I hope so.  That will be so helpful, but we are keeping every letter and even printed the blog at six months which is awesome.  It was better than Christmas when I got it in the mail this week.

Well, I hope all is going well.  I hope to be able to talk with you while you're on, but if not that's ok.  Know that I love you so much and pray for you every day, several times.  You're doing a wonderful job and you look so great and happy.  Please send a couple of pics if you can since we will see the Petersen's tomorrow and they asked us to bring pics if we have some.

Love you son, things here are fine and we are all happy and healthy.  We are truly blessed from your service and sacrifices you are making.

Love Elder Clayton

And my letter to him:

Hello pal!  How are you this week.  I have to admit I'm so looking forward to hearing from you this week and hoping that things are better than last email.  I have thought about you none stop this week and prayed for you and your companion.  I think this is the most difficult part of all is not being able to talk to you and tell you how much we are praying for you and that things will improve.  What'd you think of conference?  It made me really feel like you were watching it right with us.  Was it great to see the sights of Temple Square and know exactly where they were.  Did you see John and Diana Brown.  And they sang Consider the Lillies.  You know that is my most favorite song they do.  Did you feel like there were so many talks directed to you.  I think the one that hit me the hardest was President Uchtdorf's talk.  You are not alone, or forgotten.  Although you may feel like you are alone, Heavenly Father knows you and the test you are experiencing.  Here's some excerpts from his talk that I loved:

"But even though man is nothing, it fills me with wonder and awe to think that 'the worth of souls is great in the sight of God,'" President Uchtdorf said. "Our Heavenly Father created the universe that we might reach our potential as His sons and daughters."

President Uchtdorf warned that Satan seeks to deceive the children of God by discouraging them and endeavoring to make them believe they have no worth and are forgotten by all, including God.
He related an experience he had while attending pilot training in Big Spring, Texas. Upon arriving there from Germany he found a small branch of the Church and began to help build the new meetinghouse. He spent his time attending training school, helping with the new meetinghouse and improving his English skills by fulfilling his call to serve as a teacher in elders quorum and Sunday School.
"At the time, Big Spring, despite its name, was a small insignificant, and unknown place. And I often felt exactly the same way about myself — insignificant, unknown, and quite alone," President Uchtdorf said. "Even so, I never once wondered if the Lord had forgotten me or if He would ever be able to find me there.
"I knew it didn't matter to Heavenly Father where I was, where I ranked with others in my pilot training class, or what my calling in the Church was," he said. "What mattered to Him was that I was doing the best I could, that my heart was inclined toward Him, and that I was willing to help those around me. I knew if I did the best I could — all would be well."
President Uchtdorf said God knows where all of His children are, no matter how humble their circumstances may be and that He uses "those who incline their hearts to Him" in His own way to fulfill His purposes.
"God knows that some of the greatest souls who have ever lived are those who will never appear in the chronicles of history," he said. "They are the blessed, humble souls who emulate the Savior's example and spend the days of their lives doing good."
President Uchtdorf invited the congregation to consider four divine principles.
"First, God loves the humble and meek, for they are 'greatest in the kingdom of heaven'" (See Matthew 18:1-4)
"Second, the Lord entrusts "the fullness of [His] gospel [to] be proclaimed by the weak and the simple unto the ends of the world" (Doctrine and Covenants 1:23).
"Third, no matter where you live, no matter how humble your circumstances, how meager your employment, how limited your abilities, how ordinary your appearance, or how little your calling in the Church may appear to be, you are not invisible to your Heavenly Father. He loves you. He knows your humble heart and your acts of love and kindness. Together they form a lasting testimony of your fidelity and faith," he said.
"Fourth,... understand that what you see and experience now is not what forever will be." Individuals will not feel sorrow, loneliness, pain or discouragement forever and have been promised that God will not forget or forsake "those who incline their hearts to Him."
"Learn to love your Heavenly Father and become His disciple in word and in deed," he said.
"Brothers and sisters, the most powerful Being in the universe is the Father of your spirit. He knows you. He loves you with a perfect love," he said. "God sees you not only as a mortal being on a small planet who lives for a brief season. He sees you as His child. He sees you as the being you are capable and designed to become. He wants you to know that you matter to Him."

Don't you just love that!!!  You matter to Him, and to us!!!  We want you to know that.  So many are praying for you and you are not alone.

I loved so many of the talks.  I loved the Elder Yashitmato who talked about missionary work.  How you are doing a wonderful work and people are waiting and being prepared for you and the message you will be bringing them.  I also loved the choir singing, "I am a Child of God"  If nothing else, remember who you are and that you're not alone.  He will get you through your hard times, I promise.  I love you so much pal, and please know that I am right there with you every step of the way.  You're doing a wonderful job and we are all so proud of you.

Well, now on to what's been going on this week.  It seems like nothing really that exciting happened but to you it may seem like big news.  I got your package sent and with lots of faith I sent it on it's way.  It's full of things I'm sure you'll be happy to get, but full of love more than anything.

I did run into TJ the other day at Walker's.  I caved and bought a diet Pepsi.  I'm back on track again and trying to not drink it again, but for some reason it tastes so good and makes me happy.  He had so much good to say about you and said to make sure I tell you hello and that you are missed.  He did say they'd take you back when you return, but not sure if you'll want to.  but knowing they are missing you is big.

Fenn's are now winding down Masen getting ready to leave.  They took their family and went to a football game in Vegas of someone in their family is a coach for.  Wendy said she couldn't believe they were at this point and yet to me it seems as if he has had his call forever.  Eileen's neighbor got his call this week and leaves in February, so time does have a way of marching on.

I'm hoping to be on with you today, but have a full day of patients.  Dad will be though.  And today a cup of water spilled on my phone so at the present time, it is sitting in a container of rice hoping to dry it out.  It didn't really get too wet, but it was doing a couple of weird things so I put it in rice.  Who knew that would work.

Stetson downloaded the music on a jumpdrive rather than a CD.  It should work.  He did all the things you wanted and then we added a couple of new cd's I bought.  You'll love them.

Have you thought about what you would like for Christmas.  I need to send it off pretty quickly so I know you'll get it.  How are your garments, your shirts, your shoes?  What size garments do you wear, I wrote it down, but not sure where I did because I can't find it now.

Zoie is doing well, it's funny with the new carpet I haven't let her in until it's time to go to bed and at first she would whine, but I think that if she knows we are right here watching tv she's ok.  She comes in and goes down and gets in her kennel.  The board that kept her in the backyard has been coming up and she has been getting out.  Funny thing she doesn't go anywhere, I think she knows that she has it pretty good here.  We fixed the fence and so things are ok and I don't have to worry about her.  She's a good dog.

Well, I hope this week has been better for your.  Things will improve, I'm sure of it.  You're learning things about yourself and life that will help you for the rest of your life.  I loved Elder Richardson saying his mission was the best two years FOR his life.  As your dad can testify, that is true.

I love you and pray for you always.  I so hope I'll be able to be on with you.  I have lunch at 1:00 so with luck you'll be on at that time.  Be safe and obedient and have a wonderful week.

WE love you and are so proud of you!!!  You're a wonderful son and missionary.

And my letter to him:

Hello Pal!  Hope this finds you well and happy.  I have to admit after reading your letter last week and being able to be on with you, I love Mondays.  I will be working today but it is a no dr day and so I will try and catch you on.  I am getting your package ready to send.  Funny thing, you know Kaylynn from SpankyS?  Well, she is going to need a kidney transplant and her family didn't match her, so remember Heather Hanson, Biggest Loser, Heather Hanson, well she is a match.  So, her ward organized a yard sale fund raiser in Winegar's parking lot to help with some of the expenses.  Caleb and I decided to go over and see what they had an offer a donation to her.  They had several books, LDS ones and after going through a couple of boxes, I found a Jesus the Christ book.  Miracle!!! and only .50.  Bargain.  So, I have been able to get all you requested except the Dexatrim.  Dad thinks I shouldn't send it to you.  I will think about it, you are funny, you look amazing and it's not worth getting you into trouble sending something that I probably shouldn't. So, let me  know what you think.  The rest of the stuff was easy to get and will be in the mail on Tuesday.  Even the cookies.

So, this week was a little uneventful.  I had a dumb cold, which may be allergies.  I can't decide.  I have a man voice and a stuffy nose so I think it's probably allergies, but I'm hoping it will go away soon.  It's annoying.

Today was the Primary program in our ward.  They seriously are the best.  Everyone did such a great job.  We were all surprised that Savannah didn't do her part.  She froze when it was her turn, which is quite out of character for her.  I love the spirit these meetings bring.  It seriously is the best Sacrament Meeting of the year.  Remember when you wrote on the commend card that they sounded better than the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  I totally remember that.  I also found myself thinking back to the time when you were four and had a part about Daniel and the lions den and watched as your eyes got droopier and droopier and fell fast asleep.  I spoke in our Primary and told those kids how it seemed like just yesterday that you were in Primary just like they are and now you are serving a mission and teaching children the same things that you learned in Primary.  It is such a great organization.  I also talked about music that you mentioned in your email, too.  How all those songs they are learning may one day get them through hard times.  The messages in music help you so much and are so simple we just have to listen.  Do you remember when I hurt my back and had to have an MRI.  I looked at that long tube that I was put into and immediately the thing that got me through it without losing it was singing Primary songs in my head.  I still remember thinking how grateful I was to know those songs as they gave me such peace and comfort in what I thought was a difficult time.

Loved that you spoke in church and you say you struggle with Spanish.  I can't imagine that you could speak if your language was not the best.  Don't be so hard on yourself, I know that you're getting it and you still have only been there for such a short time and your companion is one who has been speaking this his whole life.  Don't let it discourage you.  You're doing so well and we are all so proud of you.

And the story about the boiled green bananas, oh man that sounds so bad.  What a great plan of the bag in your pocket.  Just don't leave them in there, I am sure they smell so bad.  We all got a great laugh about this.

Yesterday was homecoming dance and Stetson went with Natalie Parson's.  We also went to the game which they won, shocker!  They played Cyprus which Stetson said they were hoping by playing a not really well team they could hopefully win the game.  It was fun to go and see all the kids and of course all the neighborhood was there too and sat together.  Gates lead the team on the field and we went down and said hello to him.  He actually looks really good and can work his chair with his hands.  He seems to have quite a bit of movement in his wrists and hands, but nothing in his legs.  So sad still to see him.  He keeps pretty good tabs with Garrett and says he's doing well in California.  He said to tell you hello, but I can't help but think he is sad knowing how different his life would be without that one choice and action.

Well, things here are good and moving along.  The weather is wonderful and the Fall colors are changing.  If forever had a season it would have to be Fall.  The days are perfect and the evenings are cool.  Let me know if you need/want anything else as I will box up all the things tomorrow and get it on it's way.

How are your shoes, your shirts, your socks?  Just want you to have what you need.  Still not drinkingDiet Pepsi, had a few tastes this week.  Still miss it, remember when you quit for over two years.  You're so great that way.  When you put your mind to something you get it.

I love you so much pal and pray for you everyday.  Have a wonderful week.

Be safe and obedient,

Mom
